Our 1950's Day
This half term year 1 took part in a 1950's day to introduce our History driver of Childhood. Within this year 1 looked at what it was like to go to school in the 1950's and took part in a Mathematics lesson where they were required to use a chalk board to record their sums. Year 1 then looked at the toys used in the 1950's and were able to create their very own cup and ball. Year 1 quickly realised how life was very different to the life we live in today. To end our day year 1 created a union jack and proudly waved it in the air as they listened to the national anthem. Year 1 had such a lovely afternoon and it was great way to be introduced to our History project.
