Woodland Community Primary School Open Evening
In the Autumn term, Woodland Community Primary School welcomes parents from our community to attend an open evening. Parents are given lots of information about the school, meet the staff team and observe the EYFS areas. This year, our House Captains spoke on behalf of school about what it is like to be a pupil at Woodland Community Primary School. The children did a fantastic job and were given a round of applause!
House Captain Homework Competition
In the Spring term, the House Captains met and decided to introduce a homework competition to support learning at home and an opportunity to increase house points in school. The children decided that the homework would be an art competition to either create a self portrait in the style of Pablo Picasso or a self portrait sock puppet. The captains then met to decide on a winner for EYFS, KS1, LKS2 and UKS2. The children took this very seriously. The winners received 250 points for their house and a beautiful art set. The house captains will meet again this term to decide the next holiday homework for the Easter break.
