Welcome to Woodland!

We are all very proud of our large, inclusive school which serves a very supportive and close knit community in West Heywood. It is exciting to continue to see the school expanding into what will soon be a three form entry school throughout. We are fortunate to enjoy a wide range of modern facilities which include a well-stocked and fully furnished library, two large halls and a seven classroom extension that was completed for September 2020. Our outdoor facilities include an adventure play area, dedicated EYFS outdoor classroom area as well as a MUGA, Astro Turf, sports field and purpose built Forest School area.

Our children and families are at the very heart of everything that we do here at Woodland which makes it a very special place to be. In addition to our curriculum offer which is designed to develop and enhance our 'Woodland Characteristics', we also have a dedicated Pastoral Support & Inclusion Team who are on hand on a daily basis (including during the school holidays) to support our children and their families, therefore further enhancing our universal school offer.

We hope that our website provides a flavour of what Woodland has to offer and, most importantly, celebrates the successes of our amazing children. 

It is a genuine privilege to be the Headteacher here at Woodland and to be afforded the opportunity to lead within such an inclusive, aspirational and caring school community.
