Autumn 2
To celebrate the festive season, we introduced a christmas themed bucket time. We explored some light up christmas toys and then using finger painting, created our own christmas tree on paper.

Our children got the chance to be creative whilst recycling some old CDs. They got to choose the materials that they wanted to use to decorate the CD so that they could make a decoration for their christmas trees at home.

As part of an Attention Autism session, we looked at how we could make the snow (shaving foam) float across the water. We used straws and blew the snow.

Our focus in Mathematics is shape. We engaged in a printing activity using sponges and various paint colours.

We made penguins as part of our Winter Wonderland topic. It was a bit tricky but we had to draw around our hands, to make the penguins body. Then with a few additions our penguins came to life.

To recognise Remembrance Day, we created poppy pictures. We used card and tissue paper to add different textures to our pictures.

During one of our Bucket time sessions, the children explored light up toys and objects that made sounds. As part two of the session, we created a penguin using shaving gel and cotton balls for eyes. The children were all engaged and had great fun having some messy play when the session was over. They got their hands covered in the gel and enjoyed squeezing it and moving it around on the mat.
