Towneley Hall - River studies trip
Year 4 have been on a trip to Towneley Hall, Burnley with the Ribble rivers trust. The children took part in some engaging and interactive workshops linked to our unit ‘Misty Mountain, Winding River’, such as a river walk, exploring the river and learning about the gifts we can give to the river and animals. Dogs Trust
This week we took part in an assembly and workshops from the Dogs Trust. Within this we learnt about how to safely approach dogs when out and about and how to get an unfamiliar dog’s permission to stroke them when exploring. We also learnt to cross ours arms, stand still and look away if an unknown dog approaches us to keep ourselves safe. In our workshops we learnt about the importance of the ABC of dogs…Affection, Busy and Choice and how each of these keeps us safe around dogs and keeps our dogs happy and loved too! Using the information we reflected on what we have learnt and what we are going to promise to do to be safer around dogs and keep our dogs happy and safe too!
