Design and Technology Club 

This half term the children have had the opportunity to take part within Design and Technology club. The children were given a different task each week that focused on a different element of Design and Technology. The children were really enthusiastic about Design and Technology club and loved creating different things. 

Week 1 

In DT this week the children were given the task of creating a structure of a building us in Lego. The children were provided with a design criteria that they were required to follow. At the end of the session the children evaluated their structure against the criteria and discussed how they could strengthen it if they were to do this again. The children had so much fun doing this and were very creative with their ideas. 

Week 2 

This week in DT club, the children focused on designing what they wanted their gingerbread person to look like. We talked about the ingredients and decoration options they could use and discussed some ideas before allowing them to get creative. Next week we are going to make our final product and evaluate how successful they are with a taste test.

Week 3

This week we completed our final product and made our gingerbread people using our designs from last week to help us. We decorated the gingerbreads carefully to create a unique and eye catching product. Once we had finished making them we got to eat them and evaluate them saying what we liked about them and what we could do next time to make them even better.
