Sport and body strength challenge

For this challenge the children had to do different exercises for body strength

These included squats, plank, lunges and press ups.

The children chose football as their sport of choice.

They chose 3 skills to perfect

Cookery-Cook your recipe

This week Meadows followed the recipe they planned last week

They cracked eggs

whisked eggs

They then dipped chicken in flour, egg and breadcrumbs

They placed them on a baking tray

And cooked them for 35 minutes

They all enjoyed eating them

Cookery- plan a recipe

We brainstormed ideas for our recipe we wanted to make.

We voted on chicken goujons and vegetable rice

This is our final recipe.

Happiness challenge

This week we spread the happiness with others.

We painted positive pebbles for a community plot.

These will be for our school but we will do more for the community.

Platinum award- Challenge - Domestic challenge

Challenge 1 is the Domestic challenge

We looked at folding sheets and how it's easier done in a pair

We also looked at the washing machine

We spoke about the different settings and how it's important to separate colours

Gold award presentation

Today in assembly our Junior Dukes got awarded their Gold awards.

They received a gold badge and a certificate.

Our next challenge will be the Platinum award.

Challenge 7- First Aid

As part of our Junior Duke award we need to be able to administer basic first aid.

Today the children learnt about the recovery position.

They each performed this on one of their peers.

Next we moved onto CPR on an adult.

They all practically demonstrated this on one of the first aid dummies.

We will have another session before they can be signed off.

Challenge 6: Budgeting

This week we looked at budgeting. The children were tasked with having a £10 budget.

They listed items for 5 days for their lunches. They researched the prices of their items.

Challenge 5: Caring for others

As part of Meadow’s Junior Duke Award one of their challenges is Caring for others.

We spoke to the children and they wanted to do something for children in our school.

We decided that we would make reindeer food.

We left these in the office with a note.

We explained about Junior Dukes.

We told people they could help themselves to a bag.
