Outside Play

We spent some time working with hoops. We used varied movements to see what we could do with them. We discovered that they can be spun, rolled, thrown and that we can use our body parts to control the movements.

The children had a great time when we took our learning outside, on the castle. They were climbing, sliding, crawling and more.

Outdoor badminton

We used rackets and shuttlecocks to work on our hitting skills.

Our children have been practising their bouncing skills on the pogo stick. A little bit of help was needed by some but fun was had by all.

It has been lovely to see one of our friends joining his class and many other children at playtimes and lunchtimes. He walks around with a smile on his face and explores all areas of our school playground.

Splashing in the puddles

Whilst the other children wanted to play on the adventure play equipment, all one of our little friends was interested in was jumping in the puddle. We made sure that he put his wellies on first and as you can see, he had an absolute ball.

We spent some time outside practising our badminton skills. The children were able to hit the shuttlecock up into the air and away from them. Some of them even attempted to engage in a two way exchange by trying to hit a moving shuttlecock that had been hit to them.

Reindeer run

Some of our Orchard children were excited to join their peers in the annual reindeer run.

Our Orchard children joined their peers from their home classes. They enjoyed running around and climbing on the equipment whilst spending time with their friends and teachers.

In order to take advantage of the nice weather we took our PE lesson outside. The children had great fun riding around the playground and developing their gross motor skills.

Playing with our friends.

Today the Orchard children enjoyed sometime playing on the playground and Mugga. They have been working on their sharing skills and communication skills with the adults and their friends.
