Summer 1

To create our edible beaches, we used digestive biscuits, yogurt and food colouring. They children got to break up and crush the biscuits to create the sand. Then they got to add blue food colouring to the yogurt to create the water. Fun was had by all.

Linked to out Driver project, the children were given the opportunity to create their own beach art work. They used yellow and a few shades of blue to create the background and then stuck on their palm tree silhouette. They all looked fabulous once they were finished.

Our children, in Orchard, had a great time during our Bucket Time session. They got mix their own icing, add food colouring and then decorate their biscuits. They used different skills such as scooping, pouring and mixing.

To link in with our driver project, the children used their hands and resources from around the room to create their own crab pictures. These were then added to our display for all to see.

To introduce our driver project 'On the Beach', the children explored ice-cream. They even got to scoop some ice-cream into a cone. They were given chocolate sauce and maple syrup to add to and enjoy their own Ice-cream.
