Year 6

Year 6 are continuing to do a fantastic job in their PE lessons, they are working really hard on their dance moves and have shown some impressive streetdance skills over the last couple of weeks. Well done Year 6! 

This half term, Year 6's topic for PE is Dance! We have explored a range of breakdance movements in our lessons and have worked on lots of different skills including: unison, canon and formation. Year 6 are working really hard and we are dancing to the song "Ice, Ice Baby!"

Lesson 3 - Jumping from heights!

This week in PE, Year 6 explored jumping from different heights! They did a fantastic job of jumping from a range of heights, keeping themselves safe whilst demonstrating technical Gymnastic skills. Well done Year 6, fantastic work!

Lesson 2 - Rolls

In our second PE lesson, Year 6 explored a variety of rolls in Gymnastics. They worked in small teams to perform these and at the end did a group teddy bear roll which is a very hard gymnastics skill! Well done Year 6.

Lesson 1 - Gymnastics - Shapes

In our first Gymnastic lesson in Year 6, we performed some group balances. We explored a range of counter tension balances. Year 6 performed these with excellent co-ordination and balance. Well done!

Lesson 3 - Different types of throws

In our PE lesson today, Year 6 focused on learning the correct technique of a hip and jump pass in Handball. Children worked really hard on perfecting their technique and also played a fun rolling game with a partner at the end, well done Year 6! 

Lesson 2 - Introduction to Handball

During our second PE lesson, Year 6 were introduced to some basic Handball skills. Handball is our topic for Autumn 1 in PE and the children demonstrated some fantastic technique throughout the lesson, well done Year 6! 

Lesson 1 - Team Building

For our first PE lesson, Year 6 children participated in a team game called Mastermind! In groups, children had to solve the colour puzzle and try too crack the code! Year 6 showed fantastic: teamwork, resilience and problem solving skills in this lesson, well done!
