WC 04/12/2023

This week the children looked at their new English text called 'Greta and the Giants' The children completed a conscience alley to decide whether the giants should keep chopping the trees down and destroying the forest. They then used these ideas in a persuasive letter. They finished the week by generating expanded noun phrases to describe a forest, ready to write a setting description next week.

This week Hawthorn class started their 'Still Life' art project. This project teaches children about the work of significant still life artists and still life techniques. They explore a wide variety of still lifes and learn about the use of colour and composition. They create still life arrangements and artwork.

WC 06/11/2023

This week Hawthorn class started their 'Remarkable Recipes' Design & Technology project. This project teaches children about sources of food and tools used for food preparation. They also discover why some foods are cooked and learn to read a simple recipe. The children choose and make a new school meal that fulfils specific design criteria.
