SEMH- Pottery making

This week the children in Meadow's watched a video about pinch pots

The children in Orchard made little critters and animals from clay

They all used the pinch technique to make their pots

We will leave these to dry now and then paint them

SEMH- baking cupcakes

This week the children followed a recipe to make cupcakes

The children all took turns to measure and mix

The children really enjoyed their cakes.

SEMH- Easter egg cheesecakes

Today the children in Meadow's and Orchard made Easter egg cheesecakes

They used their mathematics skills to double the recipie so we had enough mixture for all

We all took turns to take part in our learning activity

They look amazing

SEMH- cooking chilli con carne and rice

This week Meadow's made chilli and rice

They boiled the rice, chopped the vegetables

Fried the onions

Added the beef mince

We added garlic, chilli, salt and pepper

Then added a tin of tomatoes

We left these to simmer for 20 minutes

We all enjoyed our chilli together

The Ruby Robin Award

Some of the Meeadow's children have completed their Ruby Robin award this term.

They had to research and do challenges all to help winter birds.

They created things like bird feeders, seed cakes and information sheets.

We are all very proud of them.

Fruit kebabs

Today we spoke about healthy eating.

The children picked lots of different fruits and chopped them.

The children then stacked their fruit on a skewer.

Pancake day fun.

Today Meadow's children and Orchard children came together for a lovely breakfast.

We enjoyed lots of different types of pancakes.

In the afternoon we made pancakes from scratch.

We all took turns measuring and mixing.

We had a couple of great flippers!

It was a great afternoon.

SEMH- Cottage pie

This week Meadow's class and Orchard cooked.

They made Cottage pie.

What great team work!

Ruby Robin Award

This Term we are looking at completing different tasks.

These are all about the birds outside and in our area.

If we complete out challenges we will get The Ruby Robin Award.

This week we made mosiac bird feeders.

We spread lard on sheets of card.

We threaded string through holes in the top of the card.

Then we spread bird seed on the card in different patterns.

We poked a stick through the card to create a little bird perch.
