This week, Year 5 took place in a Recycling Workshop, where they learnt all about the importance of the 4 R's: reduce, recycle, reuse and recover. They learnt about which items can be reused and recycled, and which bins different items should and shouldn't go in. The children had lots of fun and received a certifcate and a bookmark for taking part!

Christmas Crafts

The children enjoyed Christmas Crafts with their parents and careers and had so much fun! We made snowmen, baubles and Santa Clauses! It definitely got us into the Christmas spirit!

Children in Need

To support the charity 'Children in Need', Year 5 came dressed in yellow, spots or PJs. The children made a donation as well. We had an assembly about what Children In Need is and how our money can support these children. We did activities in the afternoon including colouring, crack the code and escape the classroom!

Anti-bullying Week

To support anti-bullying week, the children got to wear odd socks! We discussed what bullying was, how we can prevent it and how we can support children who are being bullied. The children did a variety of activities including creating their own sock puppets!

Shang Dynasty Day

Year 5 took part in Shang Dynasty Day where they participated in lots of different activities linked to their project 'Dynamic Dynasties'. They enjoyed a history/drama workshop which was delivered by ‘One Day’ company. The children also learnt to write their name in Chinese,  created China-inspired artwork and researched geographical facts about China. The children had learned lots of information and had lots of fun!
