Eat the Seasons

As part of our Design Technology project of ‘Eat the Seasons,’ we tasted seasonal fruit and vegetables including peppers, carrots, pomegranate, grapefruit, oranges and bananas. We then planned a range of vegetable soups using seasonal foods such as leeks, onions, potatoes, peppers, carrots and broccoli. We tried blending our soups and keeping them whole. We were amazing by our results and proud of our creations!

British Science Week - How can you blow up a balloon without using your mouth?

As part of British Science Week, we took part in experiments. With Mrs Livesey we explored “How can you blow up a balloon without using your mouth?” We had to make predictions looking at the equipment about how we could do this. We then added bicarbonate sofa and vinegar together and found that they mixed together and a chemical reaction occurred. This made carbon dioxide which made the balloon inflate… we were very impressed by our outcomes!

Wangari Maathai - Why was she significant?

Within our English we have been looking at the text “Mama Miti” about a lady called Wangari Maathai who was influential in helping the environment. We researched the work carried our by Wangari and created a biography poster about her life.

Line, Light and Shadows Artwork

Over the past few weeks the children have explored the work of Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt and are have explored a range of shading techniques. In today's session, children used their black and white photographs and reimagined them in a shaded drawing. We are very proud of our final results!
