Spring 2

Our visit to Burrs Country Park, Bury

As an end to our rivers unit, Year 3 visited Burrs Country Park in Bury. Whilst there, we looked at the River Irwell and explored the different features that we have been learning about this half term. We saw a waterfall and enjoyed exploring the river. We also created our own Woodland artwork using natural materials found in the park. Have a look at some of the fabulous pictures and read about what our children thought about our visit.

Design Technology

To link with our topic question, 'Where could I go if I built a boat?', we have planned, created and evaluated models of rivers. Please see some of our wonderful work below:

"How did the blossom become an apple?"

As part of our new Science unit, we are looking at plants and the different jobs of the parts such as roots, stems, leaves and flowers. To begin this, we planted our own seeds and thought about the best place for them to be in the classroom. We watered them to begin with and will watch them grow over the half term.
