Volume Investigation

The children of Year 4 have recently taken part in an investigation into the volume of the sound that different classroom objects made. We firstly identified classroom objects to test and then made predictions about which would make the loudest sound. Next, we discussed how to keep our investigations fair and then tested each object before discussing our findings as a class and exploring the science behind our results.

Maths

In Maths, we have been using our knowledge of fractions to help us find different fractions of objects. We have done this using concrete resources such as counters, and also by drawing the objects pictorially. Our vocabulary in this area has certainly improved and helped us to explain our methods effectively.
