Summer 2

Woodland's Got Talent

This week the whole of EYFS and KS1 took part within the first ever Woodland's Got Talent! We had many different acts take to the stage and perform their act in front of the rest of the school and also the judges. Each act brought their own uniqueness and were all equally amazing. In year 1 alone we had; beat boxing, dancing, singing and even signing! We are so proud of all of the children that took to the stage and cannot wait to see what they have in store for next year!

Victorian Schools

In our History lessons this half term we have been learning about Victorian schools. We have found out lots of interesting facts and have sorted facts into true and false. We have read some fictional first hand accounts from a teacher and a pupil to find out more about what it was like in the Victorian times.

Place Value

In our Mathematics lessons we have been focusing on place value to 100. We have used the base 10 to represent a given number.

At home continue practicing by playing place value basketball:

Smithills Farm Leaflets

Following our trip to the farm we created visitor leaflets. We wrote about the different activities that you take part in at the farm, the address where we made sure we used capital letters and the opening times and costings. The children wrote fantastic sentences using adjectives and conjunctions too.

Our Trip to the Farm

On Tuesday we went on our first school trip to Smithills Farm. We began our journey by getting on a huge coach. We were so excited we chatted and sang all the way there. When we reached the farm we took part in lots of different activities. We rode some cheeky and bumpy donkeys, fed some cute and fluffy animals, went on a fun and speedy tractor and learnt some very interesting facts. We had so much fun, some of us even had a little nap on the way home!
