Funny Faces and Fabulous Features
This project has taught the children about the concept of the portrait and how the collage technique can be used to make a portrait.
Mix It
This project has taught the children about basic colour theory by studying the colour wheel and colour mixing. It included an exploration of primary and secondary colours and how artists use colour in their artwork.
Street View
This project has taught the children in Year 1 about artwork depicting streets and buildings and focuses on the work of the American pop artist, James Rizzi. Next they will create a 3-D mural based on Rizzi's work.
Rain and Sunrays
In this project children learnt about collagraph printing, including how to develop a motif to make single and repeated prints.

2023 - 2024
Street View
Children in Year 1 have looked at the work by the Artist James Rizzi. They have created observational drawings of the houses around school, recreated Rizzi's pieces then brought these ideas together to create their final pieces.
