Year 5
Lesson 6 - Gymnastic sequences
In our PE lesson this week, we remembered all of our Gymnastic skills we have been learning with Miss Birch, split into groups and had a practice of making a Gymnastic sequence. Everyone did a fantastic job, well done Year 5!
Gymnastics - Jumping from Heights
This week, our fantastic Year 5 children performed a variety of jumps from a range of heights in groups. They did an excellent job at taking turns and being safe on the equipment. Well done Year 5!
Gymnastics - Rolls!
This week, Year 5 explored a range of rolls on the mats in their PE lesson. They worked really hard on this to keep their body parts straight! Well done Year 5!
Gymnastics - Balances
In today's lesson, Year 5 worked on their balances skills. They were able to perform a frog balance on the mats supporting their own body weight. Fantastic work Year 5, well done!
Lesson 4 - Teamwork & Dribbling
This week, Year 5 worked on their teamwork skills in our warm up game called "Hero Tig" and practiced their dribbling skills around the cones as part of their handball skills. They practiced their three steps and once bounce technique really well! Well done Year 5!
Lesson 3 - Jump shot!
This week, Year 5 worked really hard on learning different types of throws in Handball. They did a fantastic job at perfecting a jump shot in groups. Well done Year 5!
Lesson 2 - Different types of throws
During our second lesson, Year 5 practiced some basic throwing and catching skills in their first introduction to Handball which is their topic for Autumn 1, well done Year 5!
Lesson 1 - Team building
For our first PE lesson, Year 5 children participated in a team game called Mastermind! In groups, children had to solve the colour puzzle and try too crack the code! Year 5 showed fantastic: teamwork, resilience and problem solving skills in this lesson, well done!
